Another good day for the Liberal Democrats

On September 7th there was a by-election for the North Somerset seat in Pill left vacant following the death of Labour Councillor Glyn Duck. The seat was won by Nan Kirsen (former Liberal Democrat leader of North Somerset, standing as an Independent).

David Neal stood for the Liberal Democrats, and with the support of his team - lead by Andy Jopp as agent - the Liberal Democrats were the only party to increase their support when compared to the previous local elections. The Labour vote slumped by 28%, and the Tory vote by 9%, while the Liberal Democrat  vote increased by 3%.

The result was:

Independent 360
Labour
353
Liberal Democrat  202
Tory  147
