Six reasons to vote for Richard Foord and the Liberal Democrats

Richard_with_flag.jpgIt’s decision time. Who do you want to represent the interests of you and your family for the next five years? Do you want more of the same from a Tory government and a Tory MP, or do you want to change Britain’s future for the better?

Here are six reasons why Richard Foord and the Liberal Democrats are the right choice for North Somerset this Thursday.

  1. A local man. Richard grew up in Yatton, went to Backwell School and got married in Nailsea. He has a wife and three children. He knows North Somerset, he knows the people who live here and he understands the issues that we face.

  2. Not a career politician. Richard served for ten years in the British Army, during which time he attained the rank of Major. He served in Kosovo and Iraq. He’s not a career politician. He knows what it’s like to have a real job in the real world.

  3. Working hard to save our schools and our NHS. The Tories are cutting funding to our schools and selling off our NHS. Only the Liberal Democrats have a full-costed plan to provide our doctors, our nurses and our teachers with the resources and support that they need.

  4. Giving you the final say on Brexit. The Tories want a disastrous ‘hard’ Brexit that could cripple our economy and see us isolated in the world. The Liberal Democrats are fighting for the UK to remain in the single market. And we want the British people to be given the final say on a Brexit deal.

  5. A strong opposition. A large majority makes for the worst form of government. Serious scrutiny and challenge of government plans is vital if we are to avoid costly mistakes such as the overpayment of tax credits, the deregulation of the banks and the invasion of Iraq. Only the Liberal Democrats can provide a real and reliable opposition.

  6. The tactical choice. Independent tactical voting websites Best for Britain and Tactical 2017 say that voting for Richard Foord and the Liberal Democrats is your best choice if you want to get rid of the Tories in North Somerset. And the bookies agree. Bookmakers William Hill say that the Liberal Democrats are four times more likely to win in North Somerset than any of the other opposition parties.

It’s decision time.

Vote for Richard Foord and the Liberal Democrats on 8th June.
