Cllr Catherine Gibbons, North Somerset Council’s executive member whose portfolio includes children and young people, said: “Coronavirus is having an effect on every aspect of our lives. We need temporary foster carers now to help care for children and young people in our area who cannot live with their families at this time. This could be for a period of up to 24 weeks.
“We need people with strengths and experiences they can bring to changing children and young people’s lives for the better.
“Perhaps your employment circumstances have changed, giving you the opportunity to dedicate your time to support a vulnerable child or young person in need of care, support and a loving home.
“Do you have experience of supporting children either professionally or as a family member? We will provide you with the skills, knowledge and support to help you make a positive difference as well as fees and allowances to help provide all the things a child need. NOW is the time to act.”
