Thomas Gravatt has lived in Clapton-in-Gordano since he was 4 years old and cares deeply about our villages. Now 22, Thomas is campaigning for better infrastructure in our area, particularly road improvements and the Portishead Railway link.
After returning from University, Thomas co-founded a campaign putting pressure on North Somerset Council and others to get the railway project off the ground. The campaign successfully gathered more than 2000 petition signatures. He also helped to start the ‘Clean Our Lake’ campaign calling for the lake at the Portishead Lake Grounds to be dredged.
Thomas wants to represent our area to get a better deal for the people here. He will fight to protect our villages and our environment and for better transport links. Vote Thomas Gravatt on May 2nd if you want to make our area even better than it already is.
Thomas Gravatt's plan for our area
Invest in our communities
Thomas is keen to see more investment in our villages. New village halls, and improvements to existing ones, should be a priority. Important local services should be protected from cuts to funding.
Protect our environment
We live in a beautiful area and it is vital that we protect it. Any new developments should be suitable for the village they are planned for and infrastructure must be improved alongside them.
Portishead Railway link
Linking Portishead and Pill to Bristol with a railway would reduce congestion and improve air quality. The Conservatives have failed to make progress on this and our roads are poor quality as well.
