Yue He Parkinson: The local champion working hard for Portishead South

Yue He Parkinson has lived in Portishead for 15 years and cares deeply about our town. Yue is a well respected international journalist and has previously worked for the BBC and the Financial Times. Yue is campaigning for improvements to roads, and for the Portishead to Bristol railway link.

Yue was born in China and then attended the University of Bristol. She lives in Portishead South with her husband Marcus and their two daughters who are at St Peters and Gordano School. Yue is working with the Lib Dem team to secure investment for our part of Portishead. Yue wants to represent our area and get a better deal for local people and businesses. She will fight to protect our town and our beautiful environment, and will stand up for you on the council.

Yue will use her experience as a journalist, and her deep knowledge of our area to get the best possible deal for local people. Elections here in Portishead South are always close between the hard working Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives.

Yue is keen to see more investment in our villages. New and improved community facilities should be a priority. She will always work to protect local services from cuts to funding.

PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT

We live in a beautiful area and it is vital that we protect it. The local Lib Dems have secured investment in our local parks like the lakegrounds, and have fought against climate change. PORTISHEAD

RAILWAY LINK

The local Liberal Democrat team has secured funding and approval for a Portishead to Bristol railway after years of Conservative inaction. Yue will keep up the pressure to get work started.

Yue He Parkinson is running for district and town council in Portishead South

Yue wants to invest in Community Safety Locally - working with PSCOs and Neighbourhood Watch groups to invest in community policing and safety where possible.

Yue is keen to see more investment in Portishead. She supports a new skatepark for the town and wants to see investment in the High Street.

The Conservatives have failed our area. Some roads are in a terrible state and they are failing to protect our environment and wildlife.

Yue will protect vitial local services from Conservative cuts.

Yue would like to keep the street lights on Brampton Way and other local areas on for later in the evening – it's dangerous for women in the evening walking in the darkness. It’s unacceptable some roads in our areas have been without lighting for 6 months!

Yue will work with our area officers to fix our crumbling community infrastructure, pave over our potholes, and make a case for investing in safer walking and cycling routes along Bristol Road
