Constituency AGM
This year's AGM will be held at 7:30 p.m. on 28th November 2006, at the new Yatton Library. The building was a Quzker Meeting House, and used to be part of the old Yatton Infant School (rebuilt by a previous Liberal Democrat run North Somerset). The building had been left derelict by the Tories, but has now been refurbished thanks to further Liberal Democrat influence. ...read more

Sustainable Communities Bill
The Sustainable Communities Bill (Private Members) is up for ballot on Nov 23rd 06; it is well supported by over 400 MPs & hundreds of councils because it is trying to put 'subdisiarity' into practicem and to "..turn politics upside down" - a long held LibDem policy. If successful it will be fronted by a LibDem MP. We are urged to write to Liam Fox (he has indicated support) to adopt the Bill if it does reach the House. ...read more

On September 7th there was a by-election for the North Somerset seat in Pill left vacant following the death of Labour Councillor Glyn Duck. The seat was won by Nan Kirsen (former Liberal Democrat leader of North Somerset, standing as an Independent). ...read more
Yatton Library Well Worth the Wait
Yatton residents are looking forward eagerly to their new library, due to open in September. Housed in the old Yatton Infants school building, it will be much larger than the old library with many more books, DVDs and computers as well as the Parish Council office and a community room for hire. ...read more
